Students in Photography 1 will develop and expand their skills in taking and manipulating photographs to create a visual impact on the viewer. Students will apply rules of design and composition, light, and exposure to maximize photo quality. Students will be introduced to the history of photography and participate in critical response to student and professional photographs. Students will develop a fundamental understanding of how camera settings, lighting techniques, artistic composition, and photo-editing software work together to create outstanding images.

Students entering Photography 1 must be willing to work with technical equipment and photo-editing software independently and collaboratively. Students should possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and help others.
